The city thrives in the Bolívar department, on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. The dry season, from December to April, is the optimal time to discover the destination, with mild weather and rare rainfall. However, this period corresponds to the high tourist season, leading to increased crowds and higher prices. For a more serene stay, the months of February-March and July-August offer an excellent compromise between favorable weather conditions and moderate attendance.

The Rafael Núñez International Airport (CTG) serves the city from a strategic location about 5 kilometers northeast of the historic center. This airport platform welcomes national and international connections, facilitating arrival from multiple destinations. The journey to the heart of the city takes only about fifteen minutes by taxi from the terminal.
