A dynamic city located in the heart of Florida, Orlando stands out as a world-renowned tourist destination. Famous for its iconic theme parks such as Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, it attracts millions of visitors each year. Beyond these major attractions, the city offers a rich cultural scene, lively neighborhoods, and a variety of activities for all ages, making it much more than just a family destination.

Geographical situation

Located in central Florida, Orlando is approximately 130 kilometers southwest of Daytona Beach and 140 kilometers east of Tampa. The seat of Orange County, the city is surrounded by numerous lakes, including the picturesque Lake Eola, a true urban symbol that contributes to the charm of this Floridian metropolis.

Atmosphere and character

Nicknamed "The City Beautiful," Orlando harmoniously combines family-friendly atmosphere with vibrant nightlife. Neighborhoods like Downtown are filled with restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues, creating a constant urban buzz. In contrast, residential areas offer green spaces and parks conducive to relaxation, reflecting the diversity of atmospheres that this welcoming city has to offer.

Climate

The region benefits from a humid subtropical climate, characterized by hot and humid summers as well as particularly mild winters. During the summer season, temperatures can rise up to 32°C, accompanied by frequent afternoon thunderstorms. The winter months offer drier and more pleasant conditions, with temperatures ranging between 10°C and 25°C.

Best season to visit

The ideal period extends from March to May, offering particularly pleasant weather with moderate temperatures and reduced humidity. These months have the added advantage of lower tourist crowds compared to the peak summer season, allowing visitors to fully enjoy attractions with less waiting and in better comfort conditions.

Orlando International Airport (MCO), located about 20 kilometers from downtown, is the main gateway with direct flights available from several major international metropolises. For those favoring rail transport, the Amtrak station connects the destination efficiently to other major American cities, providing an interesting alternative to air travel.
