New York, often dubbed "the city that never sleeps," is the largest city in the United States and one of the most influential metropolises in the world. Geographical situation

Located on the east coast of the United States, at the mouth of the Hudson River, New York majestically opens up to the Atlantic Ocean. The metropolis is divided into five distinct boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. With the exception of the Bronx, which is attached to the mainland, the other four boroughs are island-based, requiring an impressive network of bridges and tunnels to connect them.

Precipitation, at around 1,200 mm per year, is relatively evenly distributed throughout the year.

Best season to visit

Autumn, from September to November, is the ideal time to discover New York. Temperatures are particularly pleasant, ranging from 10 to 21°C, and the city's many parks are adorned with stunning autumn colors. This season also coincides with a resurgence of cultural activity, marked by the launch of new theatrical productions and major art exhibitions.

Access

The city is remarkably well-served by three major international airports:

• John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK): the main entry point for international flights, located in Queens
• Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR): serving numerous international and domestic flights from New Jersey
• LaGuardia Airport (LGA): primarily dedicated to domestic flights, also located in Queens

These infrastructures make New York one of the leading global air hubs, handling annual traffic of several million passengers.

The New York public transport network is among the most developed in the world, offering various options for getting around:
