As the capital of the state of Baden-Württemberg, this metropolis in the southwest of Germany has established a global reputation as the birthplace of the automotive industry. Home to prestigious brands such as Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, the city harmoniously combines tradition and modernity. Its industrial dynamism perfectly blends with a rich cultural scene, highlighted by renowned museums and annual festivals that enliven the local calendar. The hilly landscape crossed by the Neckar River, adorned with numerous green spaces, makes it a particularly appealing destination for history and nature enthusiasts.

Geographical situation

The city flourishes in a hilly region traversed by the Neckar River, covering an area of 207 km² at an average altitude of 260 meters. Its territory is characterized by varied relief, consisting of hills, valleys, and parks that create a particularly diverse and green natural setting. This unique topography contributes to the picturesque charm of the agglomeration.

Summers, from May to September, bring pleasant mildness with average temperatures around 18°C in July and August. The city enjoys about 1,700 hours of annual sunshine and receives 734 mm of precipitation throughout the year.

Access

The airport (STR) is located in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, about 13 km south of the city center, providing national and international connections. The destination also serves as a major railway hub with links to numerous destinations. The central station (Hauptbahnhof) is currently undergoing an ambitious modernization as part of the Stuttgart 21 project, aimed at transforming the regional railway network.
