Nicknamed "la Belle", Nice is an iconic city on the French Riviera that charms visitors with its sunny climate, pebble beaches, and rich cultural heritage. The fifth largest city in France, this flagship destination attracts millions of visitors each year, captivated by its authentic Mediterranean atmosphere and refined way of life.
Located in the far southeast of France in the Alpes-Maritimes department, the city thrives in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Bordered by the Mediterranean Sea along the majestic Bay of Angels, it enjoys a strategic position just 30 kilometers from the Italian border.
The lively and cosmopolitan atmosphere harmoniously blends Provençal traditions with Italian influences. The historic heart, Vieux-Nice, reveals a maze of narrow streets dotted with colorful markets and remarkable baroque architecture. The city also shines with its vibrant nightlife, renowned cultural festivals, and particularly dynamic arts scene.
The favored Mediterranean climate offers hot, dry summers with average temperatures of 27°C, while winters remain mild around 13°C. With more than 300 days of sunshine per year, the exceptional weather conditions allow for enjoyment of the destination in every season.
Although pleasant year-round, spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most recommended periods. These seasons provide particularly mild temperatures, a more moderate tourist influx, and the opportunity to participate in numerous local cultural events.
An efficient public transport network includes modern tram lines, buses covering the entire urban area, and bike rental services. The famous Promenade des Anglais is particularly suited for walking or biking, offering stunning views of the Mediterranean.
