Best season to visit

The optimal period extends from December to April, during the dry season which offers sunny days and rare precipitation. These months coincide with many cultural festivals, allowing for an authentic immersion in local traditions. The rainy season, from May to November, brings showers mainly concentrated in the afternoons.

Access

Juan Santamaría International Airport, located about 20 km from the city center, serves as the primary gateway with its direct connections to numerous international destinations. A network of regular buses efficiently serves the main cities of the country from the capital, complemented by taxi services for local transport.

Internal transport

The city has a well-structured public transport network with urban buses covering all neighborhoods. Official taxis, easily identifiable by their red color adorned with a yellow logo on the front doors, provide convenient transportation.
