Global presentation

The capital of Cuba, this port city fascinates with its rich historical and cultural heritage. Founded in the 16th century, it is now the political, economic, and cultural heart of the country. Its remarkably preserved colonial architecture, vibrant streets full of life, and legendary music scene attract millions of visitors each year, who come to discover this unique heritage and its particularly warm atmosphere.

Geographical situation

Situated on the northwest coast of the island, the city majestically extends along the Florida Strait. Traversed by the Almendares River, it covers an area of over 700 square kilometers, offering varied territory between coastline and inland lands.

Atmosphere and character

The atmosphere of the city reveals a clever blend of centuries-old traditions and modernity. The historic neighborhoods, particularly La Habana Vieja, transport visitors on a journey through time with their cobbled streets and colorful facades. Music permeates every corner, from the infectious rhythms of salsa to the authentic melodies of cuban son, creating a festive and welcoming ambiance that leaves no one indifferent.

Climate

The territory enjoys a tropical climate marked by two distinct seasons. The dry season, extending from November to April, offers pleasant temperatures around 25°C. The wet season, from May to October, is characterized by higher temperatures reaching up to 33°C, accompanied by more frequent rainfall.

Best season to visit

The optimal time to discover the destination corresponds to the dry season, from November to April. During these months, the climate tends to be milder and rainfall significantly reduced, creating ideal conditions for exploration and tourist activities.

Access

José-Martí International Airport, located about 19 kilometers from the city center, serves as the main gateway. From the airport, taxis are the preferred means of transport to reach the urban center, as public transport options remain limited.
